To promote the preservation and understanding of Alaska’s history as a cultural, economic and educational asset; to provide communication between historians, interested individuals and historical groups within the state; to recognize accomplishments with annual awards; and to work with national, state, municipal, private and local organizations in an effort to accomplish these ends.
